Lauren
Weisberger was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on March 28, 1977. She
graduated from Cornell University in 1999 with a BA in English, then traveled to
Egypt, Europe, Hong Kong, India, Jordan, Nepal and Thailand (yes, we just listed
those in alphabetical order, though that's not the order she traveled).
When she returned to the States, she took a job as the Assistant to the
Editor-in-chief of Vogue. Is it any wonder her first novel was The Devil
Wears Prada?
Her first novel vaulted onto the New York Times bestseller list and remained there for six months. It wasn't long before the movie version of The Devil Wears Prada hit the big screen starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. Lauren has a cameo in the film, but even she has a hard time spotting it. The movie is fun, but you know the old saying--the book is better.
