Selina Rosen
Selina
Rosen was born February 2nd, 1960. She grew up in rural Arkansas.
She married young and had her son, Meyer, when she was twenty-one. At that
point, she was living in a house in the Ozarks that she’d built from scrap
lumber. You can literally give Selina chewing gum and bailing wire and she can
build something useful with it. After twelve years of marriage, Selina got
divorced. Fortunately for us, she started submitting her writing for
publication.
She spent some time in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) where she learned sword fighting and a lot of medieval history that she still uses in her writing today. She also met her partner, Lynn Stranathan there. These days, Selina writes and edits and runs a farm and builds things and on and on. She and Lynn run Yard Dog Press, a small publishing company that has been making a big splash in the science fiction and fantasy genre. Selina has contributed stories to the new Thieves’ World series. On a personal note, you’d be hard pressed to find a better friend than Selina Rosen, so if you attend science fiction conventions, just listen for the loud chant of “Buy my books!” Not only should you buy the books, but you should get to know the woman behind them. You’ll be glad you did.
